Good for international or business studies, obviously.

Honestly I think one of the biggest drawbacks is the campus - or lack of it. Unless students are really ok with no traditional campus feel. It is a completely urban campus, fully integrated into the city.

They are the classic school that lacks bang for the buck. Very expensive school but not high enough ranked to justify the price.

Really expensive for what it is. Go to Georgetown if you get in or AU with aid.

Counter-take: my kid didn't apply, but I loved GW (and I am local & did not expect to). If you're fine with an urban campus, check it out. Our kid is a prospective business major & they had impressive facilities & opportunities. We also visited AU and none of us liked it at all. AU is on the edge of the city (no access to transit, nothing around it that would be appealing for a young person). Seems like its funding is not great (any kind of google search will reveal issues with enrollment and finances) and lacks access to the best parts of being in DC. It has a beautiful quad, but other than that I would not have my kid apply there. To each their own, of course!

Our DC applied to Gtown but not the other 2. Was opposed to urban campus, wanted a green quad & college feel.

Everyone is saying expensive, but they often give merit that brings it down by 20k. So it often ends up being slightly less expensive than other similar privates. 65k v 85k for example.

True my kid received merit. Turned it down for another school. I think at 65k GWU may be worth it for the right student who wants and urban campus and connections in DC. I wouldn’t pay full freight for it, there are better options for similar profile kid.
