So the bastard should probably get kicked out of the country, right? I hope Brazil does everything they can to help this mother bring her child back to Brazil. No birthright anymore means the child, born to an illegal Brazilian is himself Brazilian. |
Those articles aren’t interviewing the mother. |
Citizenship could be obtained through the father. It isn't exclusively a maternal characteristic. |

Mom of Karoline Leavitt’s nephew rejects White House narrative of her ICE arrest In an interview, Bruna Ferreira, who chose the White House press secretary as her son’s godmother, contested the portrayal of her as a criminal, absentee mom. From her confinement in a remote detention center in Louisiana, Bruna Ferreira recounted all the ways she said she has tried to maintain a friendly relationship with the family of White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt. After all, Ferreira shares a child with Leavitt’s brother. The Brazilian immigrant selected Leavitt to be her son’s godmother. She signed off on her son’s trip to the White House Easter egg hunt this spring. And she said she “moved mountains” to ensure he could attend Leavitt’s wedding in January. Arrested Nov. 12 by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Ferreira, 33, said it is insulting to sit in orange prison scrubs facing possible removal to Brazil after spending most of her life in the United States while the Trump administration paints her as a criminal. She is being detained for being in the United States illegally, a civil violation, after overstaying a visa when she was a child. |

Karoline's brother sounds like a loser and a liar, and a vindictive one at that.

So was Karoline's brother lying in court records and in the newspaper article where he described living with his partner who the government is now attempting to deport and their child, or is he lying now when he said his partner never lived with their child? He sounds like he has a loose relationship with the truth. |
And if you try reading the WaPo, it points out that both Karoline's brother and his ICE-arrested partner are listed in court records as sharing a home. |
| Daily Mail reports that Ms. Ferreira has been released on bond. |
What steps do you think DACA recipients can take to remain in the US? |
I don't understand why Trump just can't pick a normal waspy wonky family person. Why does there always need to be children out of wedlock, weirdly older husbands, drunken fights, used car salespeople, drunk drivers? like did the US run out of boring families with no record? |

As Grandma used to say: “Birds of a feather flock together. “ |
I found this post. I just watched a news piece. This smells the father seeking even more custody (or arguing for less mother-parenting time or maybe less payments) after their separation. It’s not uncommon for one parent who was scorned/hurt/what-ever to want the other parent out of the picture. I have been through this custody thing personally, so I have a sense it’s related based on what Ive seen/heard. This mom still has not seen her son since she was detained. She is hoping for “a Christmas miracle.” This event/action sounds more personally motivated + Less legally -motivated. I hope she gets to see her son soon. As for the guy? I hope he grows up. A child benefits from both parents, if they are willing. |

It sounded like she had a regular custody and parenting schedule.
The pick-up event happened on one of her parenting days (she was on her way to the grade school for pick up when she was intercepted at her home). If I were a family court judge, I might hold this against the other parent based on her testimony and circumstances. Just saying’ |
