People in the US who have availed themselves of DACA are lawfully present in the US. While it does not grant a particular immigration status, people under DACA are lawfully present.

It may be a big ask, but do 5 seconds of research before opening your mouth. It will save you continued embarrassment.

This is a horrible story. Karoline’s brother and his new wife seem to have sicced ICE onto his baby mama so that they can get sole custody of his son with her and have her deported. She was legally present under DACA.

Something smells about this entire case. And that goes all the way back to when Leavitt's brother and the mother were engaged (and had the baby). Obviously they didn't end up marrying, but I don't think everything was above board when it came to the custody situation. I get the sense she was railroaded. And now this.

Reading between the lines of this story, I absolutely think the poor mother has been put through a nightmare custody situation by the brother and then his new wife when she came into the picture.

The mother and K's brother were engaged and living together with their baby. Looks like everything went downhill from there over the years. My heart goes out to the mother and I hope she isn't permanently ripped away from her son. Horrible.
