My guess is OP wont want to be outed as it will be fairly obvious who is leaving a few months into the year

Fair enough! I hope they were able to get their money back.

Still not letting us have a refund and telling us that we’re on the hook for the YEAR. She only attended 6 classes. We’ve paid a little more than a 1/3 of the year already and have monthly payments.

I'm sorry. Unfortunately, TWSB relies on its school for revenue. The classes are otherwise far too large for the serious study of ballet. It's become a recreational school, a good recreational school, but a recreational school nonetheless.

I vote for cancelling the card - tell credit card company it was lost and they will send a new one.

Does anyone have inside info on the TWSB summer intensive program?? It gets pretty good reviews on Ballet Help Desk. Can anyone speak to how competitive the auditions are for dancers not affiliated with the year-round school???

Solid safety, your kid will get in. They do placement on the first day.

Curious whether those on the fence are staying with TWSB or moving elsewhere this upcoming season?

I know of a few people who are interested in Master Ballet Academy. I don't know if they got it though. But there has been so much turmoil and instability at TWSB. We might stick it out one more year and see if anything changes, but we haven't made a firm decision either way.

I've hear there are a lot of unhappy parents. Too much transition in leadership, poor communication with families, and large classes. But it doesn't seem like DC has much to offer in ballet training in general. MYB is decent, CityDance is contemporary, ARB is good but it's a drive. Alchemy not so much. The others aren't even worth mentioning.
