Oh dear, that would be the final nail in that coffin. Why can't they get it together? smh |
No way, that would be a disaster. Remember, XR was originally brought on board to be head of school but that was not working out so she became head of PTP, probably for the same salary and perks, but way fewer responsibilities. I don't see how she could manage all the admin and work involved in the AD position. |
Who is producing them? Which studios in the DC area are smaller and more intense? |
This is our issue in level 3. Daughter does not feel challenged and said she sent her personal gains are minimal. I think she’s used to a stricter regimen. I’m not sure what’s expected at this level. Because in work in Va, my sister dies drop off and husband picks up. Does anybody have experience with the summer program? After attending other summer intensives I’m nervous about continuing (although this option breast fits our life right now. Thanks |

And now the head of the Upper Division is leaving - looks like 4A Summer Intensive will be the end of TWSB for us...need to move on to something more challenging and reliable |
Any word on who will be replacing Julie Kent and the upper division head? |
What is more challenging in the DC area? |
+1 We're interested in this. Maybe one with smaller class sizes. My DD wants to study dance in college and feels as though she's been overlooked. Instructor comments are overwhelmingly positive about her, evaluations all give her high marks, but when it comes to castings she's clearly not in the "in" group that seem to always get chosen. So we're looking for other schools in the area that will help her prepare for her dream college choices and give her more performance opportunities outside of The Nutcracker. Please share! |
This was us, left TWSB last year for Seber, and are MUCH happier. DD has progressed so much more in the last year |
Maryland Youth Ballet |
We are looking at ABA - Akmedova ballet academy. Does anyone have any experience with this school? |
Avoid. Very expensive and constant pressure to spend more on private lessons. Focus on staying very thin. Not sure how good their placements are fit college or company programs. No boys. |
That's good to know! I'll check them out! My DD is looking for serious training, small class sizes, and individualized approach. |
Come to the bright side! |
