I just watched the whole series (again) with my 10yo and he loved it — it was the perfect mix of adventure, ideas, absurdity, suspense, creativity, interpersonal relationships, and humor. (The inappropriate parts mostly went over his head but he did ask what is p*rn, haha).
What other shows are similar? I see some recs for Parks and Rec, Community, Man on the Inside, Ted Lasso, etc. but I think those might be too much talking and not enough action to capture his interest. Any ideas? Looking for something that I would like watching too, not a kids’ show. (No desire to rewatch Lost or Heroes which I think he’d like.) |
| The Fallout series is pretty good. |
| Parks and Rec then Office. |
| Young Sheldon. |
| Abbott Elementary? |
No! It is VERY graphic |
| Ghosts is pretty fun. |
+1. Dd loved this show and rewatches it all the time. I’d save Ted Lasso for a few years- so much cursing and mature themes. My 13-year-old loves it. Also check out Just Add Magic, which i think is on Apple TV. |

I’m not that familiar with The Good Place, but here are some you might consider:
Pushing Up Daisies Ghosts Star Trek Next Generation Eureka Chuck The Twilight Zone The Outer Limits Doctor Who Numb3rs MASH Please check Common Sense Media and/or IMDB Parents Guide if you have any concerns about content. |

I am a major Good Place fan.
Even though I'm a grownup, I enjoyed watching all of the Avatar the Last Airbender original anime series with my sons. It's been a while, I don't remember how old my sons were... It has a quirky ensemble cast of strong personalities. And it's about various people trying to do the right thing. (I didn't like the sequel series - Legend of Korra - so stick only to the original anime. Also, the old Airbender movie and I think also the new live action series were repudiated by the creators.) |

-Schitts Creek
-Only Murders in the Building Old school sitcoms: -Seinfeld -The Wonder Years -The Office -Boy Meets World -Fresh Prince of Bel Air |

Michael Schur also did Brooklyn 99 which was a family favorite
Mayor too but haven’t seen it. Kids like Modern Family, Blackish, and Fresh off the boat but more family oriented less moral philosophy. Maybe my name is earl… |
Good place super fan here ( I read his book!). Pushing Daisies, Chuck and Eureka are good options. Maybe warehouse 99. |
| Brooklyn 99 for sure |
Not in a real way |
