Two current posts in the college forum show really bad parenting, even by that forum's (very low) standards. Are they for real?

| That’s the sickest DCUM forum by far. I’d rather debate Palestine. |
I dunno- the relationship forum is pretty sick. The playbook on "how to cheat on your spouse and get away with it in the 21st century" was scraping the bottom. |
No, that’s much less morally objectionable IMO |
I stand corrected- re-using college admissions essays between kids is a moral crisis. I believe one pp stated it's "what happens when a nation abandons the light of the lord." |
| There's literally someone who wants to lock her 2.5 year old in a closet. The college forum has nothing on that. |
Agreed, and that was troubling that a parent would even contemplate it. |
Imagine if every post on General Parenting was about locking kids in closets. That’s the college forum. |
And if the general consensus was that locking a toddler in the closet was totally fine -- good, even -- if it leads to a job on "The Street." |
| It’s sad. There’s such a push for academics but then parent failures on moral and social upbringing. No wonder some kids are using every curse word in 3rd grade, plagiarize in middle school, and cheat in college. |
| I don't know if those two are genuine. Neither interested me enough to get through the OPs. Hopefully they will just fade away. |
So did we find out if they were real posts or not? |

OP, consider yourself Lucky if you have successfully navigated the college application process without a few questionable parenting moments.
Let's just give these people some grace. They aren't monsters, just trying (in a not so great way, but not the worst way either) to help their kids. |
