Do you carry a handbag AND a work bag every day

Anonymous
Somehow I am carrying both - the purse is basically my mom purse which is thick leather, glasses, beats headphones , big wallet pile of keys hair brush makeup etc In my work bag I have my laptop random pens etc and a binder or folder, water and sômetîes a spare set of shoes or something

How do I pare this down? - do you put one in the other or carry both ? If just a work bag, do tou just throw your makeup in the bottom of your work bag?

I need a new combination as I enter the new year - help me figure this out bec I am too tired to apply any brain power to thiis . Thank you !

I don’t use a handbag, I just put everything in my work tote.

Do you need a work bag? Do you really need to bring your work laptop home every night? Do you have another device you could use at home for email, like an iPad? Everyone I know who brings their laptop to and from work every day are actually the most disorganized people I know, have a bottomless bit work purse and they admit they never actually use the zillions of things in said bag on a daily basis (including the laptop) - they just have best intentions. I rarely see men carrying laptops to and from work.

Where do you work? I’ve worked in multiple places and *everyone* took their laptops home. Now it’s a no-brainer with hybrid work, losing permanent offices, etc

I do, but would like to consolidate.

I keep a smallish zip pouch with my (small) wallet, keys, essential makeup - toss into my work tote for work and into my mom bag or purse when I’m not leaving for work - never carrying more than one bag at once

In my purse I put my wallet, makeup bag, keys and phone. On the days I go to the office, those go in my work bag. No purse.

Yes I usually take in both, but sometimes I put my wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, etc. in a pouch in the work bag to consolidate. But then if you go out for lunch you need to take the work bag versus just a regular sized bag.

Absolutely everyone takes their laptops to and from work; this take is bonkers. No, you can't use your personal iPad for work.

I throw my purse-stuff in my bigger work tote (wallet, keys, etc.) and then I have a pouch in my work tote with some duplicate handbag/purse items (tampons, band aids, lip balm, hand cream, nail file, etc.). This makes it so the only things I have to switch back and forth are my wallet, keys, and phone. Sometimes I do take an extra tote for a change of shoes, extra coat/sweater, big water bottle, etc.

Where I work it is corporate policy that everyone must take their laptop home every day. This is for corporate continuity among other reasons.

I have a work tote leather bag (from Tory Burch many years ago). I put all my things in there with no other bag. But, if I am going somewhere after work, I need to bring a small crossbody bag as well. Not the best solution, but it generally works.

I hear you op. I would like a better solution too. I currently have a black nylon laptop backpack and I take my big mom purse (coach laurel brown/black, nothing fancy). Both are clunky. I take the bus or metro so like the purse to be able to take my metro card in and out… I have a large mom wallet but also use a small madewell leather pouch for my metro card, most used credit card, and DL.

I use a neverfull for my laptop. I know there is a lot of hate for it but it is so indestructible. I have it in cream and fly a lot. It is shoved under the seat several times a week and still looks great even though I have had it for 4 years.

I also carry a smaller bag with my phone, wallet etc - my latest is a YSL puffer
