Why don't we have any shows like the Walton nowadays? I've been watching them all day today it was a good show. No We can't watch a show they are always having ∆∆∆. We need to bein back a show like the Waltons

Hallmark Channel has shows like that.
I remember when the daughter cousin Mary Ellen Ingalls went blind. Those episodes were genuinely frightening. Didn't she wake up screaming? |
Good night John Boy! |
Agree. I bought a number of video tapes of shows like Waltons, Brady, Bunch, Little House of the Prairie, etc. I hated the Disney Channel shows. |
Omg are sick |
That was Little House on the Prairie. |
Yo7 hi conflated two characters. Mary Ellen was the eldest daughter on The Waltons Mary Ingalls was the older sister of Laura Ingalls in Little House on the Prairie. She became blind due to scarlet fever. |
There is a lack of wholesome shows. Too many law and order shows with sickos being arrested. Too much heavy heavy topics to dwell on each night. I agree there should be lighter, more caring shows for people to care about one another. |
All Creatures Great and Small is very wholesome. New episodes start in January but past seasons and new available to stream via Passport.

I had Scarlett fever in 4th grade in the 1970s. My mom made a big deal about it. That show frightened me. And the blonde girl with the pigtails was so mean. |
+1 wonderful show!! |
New poster and I came to say the same. OP, and others lamenting "we can't find wholesome shows," get to PBS, join PBS Passport (it is VERY cheap compared to streaming services) and access all seasons of the most recent "All Creatures Great and Small" series. Jan. 12, the new season begins on PBS Masterpiece on Sunday nights, then it will move onto Passport to stream whenever. You can also see all of the original 1970s-80s version of "All Creatures Great and Small." I believe it's also on PBS Passport but if not, it's definitely available elsewhere. It's great, though the new version (dare I say it as a fan of both?) is better. You will love the characters. Also recommend "The Larkins," a British series available I believe on either the BritBox or Acorn streaming services. Very wholesome, OP. Look that and All Creatures up on IMDB if you want to know more. I also think you might like the series "Beyond Paradise." The setting is contemporary (unlike All Creatures set in the 30s-40s and Larkins set in the 50s) but it's a small town police show with very, very few murders. I count one actual death per season so far; other crimes are not murders. And the characters are funny, engaging and kind. I get it, I also get tired of ceaseless griim murdery shows and showing a lot of sex, but there are good alternatives out there if you look! |
Nelly Olson! |
I recommend finding Everwood (I've been watching on Freebie) and watching it. It's a wholesome show but at the same time has relevant topics. |
