Connected with someone on a dating app. Talked about meeting in person and he asked if I have a car since he doesn't have one, because he just moved here from overseas
The area he lives in isn't really walkable. I don't know how anyone could live there without a car. I understand he's brand new in town, but who'd go out on dates before even settling down? Maybe I'm being judgy or overthinking, but this starts to feel odd to me. I don't want a stranger in my car. Anyone has run into the same issue? |

DO NOT DO THIS. You are NOT being judgy. You are NOT overthinking.
He can take Lyft, Uber, Waymo, a taxi, rent a car, etc. |
|
Don’t do it. I once set up a date with a guy I later found out had attempted to murder a women who dumped him. I am VERY thankful he never saw my car or where I lived.
He can Uber. If he can’t, don’t go out with him. Not worth the risk. And even if he’s fine, it means he’s not willing to spend $30 for a date, which is lame and cheap. |
| Do not give this stranger a ride!!! |
| you should be coughing from all of the dustiness... |
| One question, are you stupid? |
| I’d cancel the date. That’s super sketchy. Even if he’s a decent dude, he didn’t have good social skills. You cancelling the date over this is good feedback for him if he’s awkward and potentially save your life if he’s crazy. |
what does this mean? |
I wouldn't even go on the date, OP. |
| Asking for a favor before or during first date is a huge red flag. Nothing good ever comes out of it. Don’t waste your time with him. |
NP, it means even if he isn’t a violent offender he sounds like a bum. |
or more likely he lost his license. Or is too poor to own a car. Or is epileptic. Or has a fear of driving. etc |
| My concern would be that I’d have to keep giving him rides. Also that he’s a foreigner (depends on the country though). |
Kicking up dust trying to get out of there so fast Like a car screeching and peeling out of somewhere and a huge cloud of dust in their wake (?) |
| I feel like TLC sang a song about this guy. |
