What is your excuse for not driving an electric vehicle?

Prices are way down, variety is infinite, and theres even tax rebates.

So if you are still driving around in a polluting gas car or SUV, why exactly is that?

Because I have a perfectly fine vehicle and don’t have the funds to buy a new one or install a charging station at my house, smug ass

Can’t afford to buy one and trump will take incentives away

+1. Also, I put very few miles on my paid off vehicle.

+1 When I'm in the market for a new car and can afford one, I'm not opposed to buying electric.

I don't care about the planet. I bare minimum recycle also.

+1 not replacing my long paid off car until it actually needs to be replaced.

OP, do you eat meat? Wear leather? What size is your house? Do you ever fly on airplanes?

I'm not supporting Tesla.

I've driven a couple of other and I do not like how they handle.

Are they handing them out for free? Where do I sign up?

It is much worse for the environment to buy a new car when my existing car works just fine. And do you know how the child miners who get the cobalt needed for your electric car are treated?

This. We our cars will be 10 and 5 years next year, and don’t have lots of mileage on them, so will still serve us some time. I guess the next car we buy maybe an electric vehicle when we replace the 10 year old compact car. The other reason is that I am hoping the car manufacturers (Toyota, Honda, …) catch up. I am not a fan of Tesla, so waiting for offerings from more mainstream car brands.

Why should I discard a vehicle that is paid off and works perfectly well to buy a new one, pay more in registration and insurance, and have to upgrade my home's electrical system?

Not to mention I live in the West and an EV won't get me where I often need to go without having to stop and recharge, especially in the cold weather where I live, which depletes the battery much faster.

Electricity still comes from natural minerals - a significant amount from coal.

I just bought this one (https://www.audiusa.com/en/models/q8-e-tron/q8-sportback-e-tron/2024/overview/) ....to make up for buying this one for our other home (https://www.ramtrucks.com/bmo.ram_1500_dt.html#/build/exterior/22101/CUT202520DT6M98A/2TM/APA,PCG,X9,EFC,DFR,DMH,Z6D,TUB,WRM,SJ,UBQ,22M)

Saving the planet while killing it. Or vice versa.
