What is your excuse for not driving an electric vehicle?

Prices are way down, variety is infinite, and theres even tax rebates.
So if you are still driving around in a polluting gas car or SUV, why exactly is that? |

This. We our cars will be 10 and 5 years next year, and don’t have lots of mileage on them, so will still serve us some time. I guess the next car we buy maybe an electric vehicle when we replace the 10 year old compact car. The other reason is that I am hoping the car manufacturers (Toyota, Honda, …) catch up. I am not a fan of Tesla, so waiting for offerings from more mainstream car brands. |

Why should I discard a vehicle that is paid off and works perfectly well to buy a new one, pay more in registration and insurance, and have to upgrade my home's electrical system?
Not to mention I live in the West and an EV won't get me where I often need to go without having to stop and recharge, especially in the cold weather where I live, which depletes the battery much faster. |
