Boarded the plane and they ended up finding engine problems. Spent 3 hours on the tarmac fixing it. They fixed it. Then the captain informs us the crew won't be able to complete the trip because they will time out. Now we have to sit for 2 hours longer to wait for the new crew to arrive. Oh yeah, this is after there was a 2 hour delay when the plane arrived.
So been stuck in the plane for almost 5 hours going nowhere. Oh, this is also for. 13+ hour flight we haven't even started yet .... ![]() Flying is so much fun these days. |
That’s absolutely horrible. Instead of forcing you to be inconvenienced, perhaps a better solution would have been to clear the plane for takeoff with known engine problems. |
Omg where are you going? That is terrible. |
I would have a panic attack. Why did they not let you deplane? Nightmarie. |
They won't let you off? I thought they passed some new laws about this?!?! |
SAME!!!!! I would NOT be ok AT ALL. |
What airline? |
I never understood why they don’t let people off a plane. It makes zero sense. |
I’m willing to guess it’s American |
They do. In fact, they are required to by law. But OP may not be in the US. |
This. In the US, they are required by law to let people off the plane after 3 hours. The fine is huge if they don't do this. |
Please say the airline! |
It's probably in a different country. US planes aren't allowed to hold people hostage for more than 3 hours. |
If it is a flight to Europe, claim the compensation -

Or if it is connecting through Europe, and you are delayed by more than 2 hours, you can claim the compensation. |
