Blake Lively- Jason Baldoni and NYT - False Light claims

Anonymous
According to Blake's complaint, on May 29, 2023 another cast member lodged a SH complaint about Baldoni's "gross" and "unwanted comments" towards her and others. Do we know anything about it?

There are literally thousands of working actors who would happily take SAG scale for a day on the set of a major motion picture and a credited role. They wouldn't audition -- the casting director could get a stack of headshots and they'd cast him largely based on his appearance, since he has no lines and is barely featured.

Did Blake lose her free will here? Why didn’t she voice her opinion during the filming? Perhaps tell Baldoni and the friend of Baldoni that she was uncomfortable with him observing her naked crotch. She sure as hell seemed quite self composed and quite arrogant in the texts to Baldino provided, calling herself ‘spicy’ and telling him she doesn’t use teeth.

Was it "I don't want to be deposed by Freedman at this time" or "I don't want to be deposed by Freedman ever"?

Both. The judge agreed to the first but not the second.

Not a win for her in the slightest.

I know it's very important for you to believe that.

DP. Lol how is this a win for her? her motions were denied.

Her protective order was denied. Baldoni's request to have Lively deposed immediately was denied.

Even though her protective order was denied, the judge invoked the ethics rules on extrajudicial statements and threatened to move up the date of the trial if the lawyers attempt to try it in the press.

Notice that Freedman has been very quiet since the hearing yesterday. I don't think I even saw a statement from him after the hearing. If he made one, he didn't say anything of note. Lively's lawyers have successfully gotten him to quiet down.

Stop lying. He talked to the press on the court house steps about how happy he was with how the hearing went.

After the hearing, Freedman told an array of cameras outside the courthouse that he was pleased with the outcome.

“Our clients are devastated and want to move the case along as quickly as possible,” he said. “We just couldn’t be more pleased with how the case was handled today, how it was managed. We’re going to move as quickly as we possibly can and prove our innocence, in a world where sometimes people judge you before they give you a chance. And we’re going to change that.”

That's a very toned down statement when you look at the stuff he was saying just last week in the press. Not a single comment about Lively herself, for instance.

My thought is this: Baldoni will win. No matter what front BL and RR are putting on, they don’t stand a chance for SH. The facts don’t fit the narrative that she’s painted.

Glad the judge said ‘proceed’ with media but time it down. He’s allowing both sides to continue as is, but to keep ot more respectful. So Freedman can continue, but more respectfully.

He didn’t ban the website nor issue a gag order. Win for Baldoni.

You have no idea about this. Baldoni hasn't addressed the really serious stuff like barging into the trailer and the birth scene having an unexpected stranger show up. He's posting clips of their dance and inviting speculation. He really has not addressed the more substantive charges. Which is great for the court of public opinion but less so in the court of actual law

Again, Baldoni will win. When this happens, I will come back to this comment.

It’s odd or maybe just indicative of who her base actually is.

Maybe people keep remarking about how there are a lot of misogynistic comments in this thread because some of the Baldoni supporters (maybe like you) keep posting misogynistic takedowns of Lively instead of just talking about the facts. We're allowed to notice that. You have posted the same "you are posting the same thing over and over" comment now at least 3x in this thread, so: Pot, Kettle.

DP. the problem is you or someone like you is trying to get the WHOLE thread shut down based on the bad comments of a few instead of just flagging those. Plus you’re claiming that anyone who sides with Baldoni or expressed anything negative about Lively is a misogynist or paid by Baldoni. I don’t think anyone would care about your viewpoint except that you’re trying to silence everyone else.

Exactly. She could have stopped filming if she felt uncomfortable right then and there.

Another DP and this is precisely how I feel.

This is a film production, it’s fantasy, it’s make believe. Blake wasn’t a an actual patient in a doctor’s office, she wasn’t working as a surgeon amongst all male colleagues…she was pretending to give birth. It’s all fake. Keep this in mind, she wasn’t as vulnerable as she would like us to believe.

Blake’s base consists of stunted millennial women who must be treated like glass snowflakes. They are very delicate, easily offended and feel that any slight disagreement or criticism is harassment. They enjoy posting their fake lives on SM.

DP and lawyer. I’m definitely not Blake’s base and my last post on social media (other than this place and reddit) was years ago. I have enjoyed the legal discussions, especially the defamation piece bc I love/hate the NYT, but I can admit I find the Blake pile on distasteful and a bit misogynistic and that men don’t typically inspire this sort of venom. Let’s stick to the cases, and a mature discussion.

Pretending to give birth wearing briefs, a pregnancy suit and a hospital gown. This wasn’t a playboy shoot.

I posted earlier telling people to ignore the bait so this thread isn’t shut down, and my post was promptly removed. Can’t believe someone went to tattle so quickly and that Jeff isn’t more selective about what he removes.

Right. People keep acting like this set is just like their workplace and forget that these people are acting. Like in the dance scene, her supporters will claim they know they’re acting yet they’re still reacting to it as if it’s a real life situation where Justin is caressing her out of nowhere. There is no reasoning with these people.

^^and you can continue claiming that she lost her free will, she is a victim here regardless of it being a film production and not real life. What would have happened if she told that actor she was uncomfortable with him between her legs? She should probably change careers. It kind of goes along with the territory. Or maybe find a better director to work with next time.

Perhaps Blake shouldn’t be an actor. She’d be absolutely shocked at real life interactions, she’d be absolutely traumatized.
