It can't proceed while Trump is in office because of presidential immunity. Closing it now allows them to preserve the ability to reopen it later. Whereas if they wait until Trump takes office they risk losing it altogether. Trump doesn't give a rats arse about the rule of law and neither do you -- if you did you'd be angry that Trump's behavior on J6 and the months leading up to it has gone unpunished. |

At least this way, a written report can be provided to the American public. Meanwhile, the Classified documents case will continue against the co-conspirators, at least until trump pardons them. |
