How Trump Turned America’s Most Hispanic County Red

Very interesting article. Apparently, American Latinos want safe neighborhoods and a secure border, among other things. Who knew?!

Are you sure it's not because they're racists? I heard somewhere that is the primary reason people vote for Trump. Maybe the latinos are racist against the latinx

The real challenge will be if he is able to keep it red. If he governs as well as he says he does it should be a slam dunk.

Trump didn’t turn Latinos into Republicans, Democrats did.

Not sure if those specific people are racist, but you must be aware that there is racism in Latino communities.

About a quarter of Latino adults say they have personally experienced discrimination or unfair treatment from other Latinos. Having darker skin and being born outside the United States are associated with an increased chance of experiencing this type of discrimination, according to a Pew Research Center survey conducted in March 2021. At the same time, Latinos say they are as likely to experience discrimination or unfair treatment from non-Latinos as from fellow Latinos, regardless of skin color or their country of birth.

Isn’t it ironic. People voted for Trump bc they want it to be “safer”, yet he nominated a child sex trafficker for AG.

How has it gone for your party, flinging spurious accusations at people you don’t like? Not well, it seems. Keep it up though.

An oilfield worker, a laborer, is going to be making $80,000.” And that’s with “no education, straight out of high school.” Those jobs have been “hit by the Biden administration energy curbs.” Ms. Hernandez reports that oil workers were told by their managers that the jobs would “bounce back” if Mr. Trump won.

Cool, they just wanted someone to help them destroy the environment.
Hope they enjoy their water wars with Mexico and the treacherous heat.

Great. Now they can get that in Mexico

Democrats believe all Latinos are in one voting block (despite being from diverse nations and cultures) and they all have being pro-illegal immigration as their number one issue. The latest election results show how clueless the white progressives who run the Democrat party are. They honestly believed all Latinos would vote for them because they want illegal immigration. They honestly believed white women would vote for them because of abortion. They don’t talk to actual voters and it shows in their out of touch political messaging.

The funny thing is a Latino Democrat who represents one of these districts, Henry Cuellar, tried to talk to the Biden administration since the beginning of the administration and tell them how opposed to illegal immigration his constituents are. He said the Biden administration never listened to him, and they only listened to pro-illegal immigration special interest groups.

Yes! I've seen him in many interviews over the past few years trying to explain this but the progressive wing has Democrats in a chokehold. It is maddening to watch.

I think something about illegal immigration needs to be done but to be honest the Democrats try to do that and Trump tank the bill. How you can keep saying the border is an issue when you voted for someone who tanked a deal that could have helped the border, I don't understand.... Was that bill? Perfect hell no but it's a step in the right direction and something Harris could have built on over time like she said multiple times she wanted to do.
It's like you purposely don't listen to anything the Democrats are saying and then complain that you don't hear them saying it

I'm a Dem and I've been saying for years that the GOP is a better fit for many Hispanics, especially more recent arrivals, due to their conservative cultural values. So this doesn't shock me. But it will be interesting to see what happens in the midterms, after DT has had a chance to implement his policies for several years.

Or anyone that doesn’t agree with them is a racist. Dems just don’t get it. Their ideology has been rejected. Time for them to do a deep think, if that’s even possible, and reflect on how far left the party has drifted.

That would make the latinos (sic) anti-woke against the latinx (sic).
