| Nadia confirmed it on her social media and posted a nice message, which kind of surprised me. Per Jeff's rules I will refrain from saying anything negative about the deceased for the next couple of days. |
| Good. Wretched man. |
| I’m surprised he was 82. I would have guessed he was older. |
| Nobody GAF |
| He did a lot for gymnastics. |
Because Earth rotates around you and the only things people should GAF about are those you care about. |
| I hope his death brings some relief to so many women. |
| Its been more than 24 hours. F him and his wife for turning a blind eye to the abuse. |
Right… that’s why gymnasts now are healthier, happier, not abused, more mature because they can continue their sport into their 20s… |
+1. He was a sick monster |
Amen |
|
He claimed he didn’t know about Nasser’s abuse. Why don’t people believe him? Do you think all of the parents who also claim they didn’t know are lying as well?
Why is be being blamed for parents subjecting their kids to his intensive training? He wasn’t hired to be these girls’ parent; he was hired to train to gymnasts, and he was incredibly successful at that task. |
So you disagree that he did a lot for the sport? |
| He was a monster. There is no way those animals didn’t know about the abuse plus they remained quiet on it until it went to court |
I agree with this. I don't think you can automatically assume he knew about Nassar. Maybe he did but there is nothing that supports that at this time. These kids' parents didn't even know. Nassar was a manipulator and abuser and that's how they work. I also don't think you can necessarily complain about his training. This was a different time and that was how they trained (and a lot of other sports too). People knew that when they sent their kids there (and I know people who've trained there). Like it or not, he elevated the sport and LOTS of his athletes spoke out in favor for them, and were closed to the Karolyis (i.e. had them in their weddings and so forth). I think we focus more on health and well-being now -and rightfully so- but you cannot fault him for the intensive trainign that people KNEW about and flocked towards. |
