Wait, didn't know lululemon was "out" Weird.

Just get whatever DD likes, not just what is "in"
i'll never understand buying stuff you don't even like just bc someone random says you should wear it.

I never did get my Forenza sweater.

And I stil remember how exciting it was to get my peach forenza sweater for Christmas. We weren’t close to wealthy nor were we particularly struggling, and my parents did not purchase anything without good cause. I’ll always appreciate that my parents (mom!) recognized how “important” this felt to me at the time.

I don’t have daughters and I’m a spendthrift but I would buy them a pair of whatever leggings are in (within reason) as a holiday gift, if it felt important to them, and not shame them for wanting to fit in.

It’s out for older teens that have already been wearing it for about three years.

Oh please!
If your teen wears lululemon (@$95-120 per pair of pants), she’s not wearing it because she randomly saw a generic black pair of pants through the window while walking through the mall and thought “oh! Those look like a uniquely comfortable pair of pants that I will love more than the $20 pair I could buy elsewhere! I think I’ll buy those because I like them!”
She bought them specifically because they are the “it” thing. AND that she tried them on before committing to buying them AND they happen to also be confortable surely helped seal the deal and made them “worth it” to you/her. But let’s not pretend your DD “randomly” stumbled upon the brand.

Now I agree that if OP doesn’t like the brand, she shouldn’t buy it. But I don’t think she said she didn’t like the brand. She just doesn’t want to buy her daughter a style/brand of clothing that is “so last season”—-if that is, in fact, the case.

I did! I was sooooo happy with it! I didn't always have the trendiest things, so the things I had made me really happy.
