Tips for cooling down post gym

Anonymous
I've gotten in the habit of working out over my lunch hour, at the gym near my office. I have a great efficient routine and really feel better after using my hour to exercise. But I am struggling to cool down and get dressed afterwards! Does anyone have any tips for quickly decreasing my body temp and being able to transition back to office clothes?

I am a female with long hair. I currently take a cold shower and use dry shampoo. I blow dry or comb my hair around any sweat spots. But my face is still sweating! If I try to apply makeup it gets splotchy. If I dont apply makeup my face is so red. Any products that would help with this?

I dont want to give up working out but am finding it impossible to attend meetings for an hour afterwards because I look so crazy.

I use megababe powder around my feet and sometimes booty and that helps. Looking for something for my red face tho!

Does your office have a shower. If you cool down on your way back to work, then shower you will have much more success.

My gym is in the same building as my office, along with the showers.

I think you just have to care a bit less. As long as you've showered, no one really cares that your face is red.

I used to work out at lunch, too, and I loved it. I wouldn't do it before a big, important in-person meeting, but for casual meetings or Zooms, I do not care.

Does your hair really need to be done? If you let the cold water run on your head, you will cool down much more quickly.

Maybe a few more minutes of cold water on your face. And is it really an issue? I don't know your industry, but in my office, no one would care.

I dont wet my hair- it is long and would never dry. But good point on maybe just letting the cold water hit my neck for longer.

I am a red-faced exerciser. You just have to build in more time if you care your face is red. Work out, shower, and head back to the office. Keep a towel in your bag and blot your face when you get back to your desk. Block your calendar for 15 minutes after lunch and do emails. Go to the bathroom and do makeup if you feel the need - I just don’t wear makeup and don’t care!

Can you not reapply makeup right away, and then put it on in the bathroom an hour later?

Drink water during your exercise and cut the length by 10 min.

Cold plunge 🤡

What worked for me was to do my sweat inducing cardio first and finish with ten minutes of stretching which also was cool down time.
