No one started a thread to talk about media's role in this election outcome? Or are we done blaming the media since '16?

The media that was telling us this would be the end of democracy? The media that said Trump was Hitler - but worse? The media that claimed Kamala was never the border czar despite montages of clips from 2021 calling her the border czar? The media that said we’ll never have another election again if Trump won? The media that assured us that Joe Biden was in absolute peak condition this whole time, until the day after the debate, when they said he had to go? The media that insisted Trump was hit by a piece of broken teleprompter that had nothing to do with bullets flying by? The media that stirred crazies up and got them shooting at Trump?


That media?


They’ve sacrificed every last shred of their credibility. They’re a laughingstock.

Nah. The media that was transcribing Trump's incoherent ramblings and then edited them to make them sound semi normal. That media has failed for me.

No cable news anymore, WaPo and NYT are cancelled. I did subscribe to Philadelphia Inquirer because they are owned by a non profit and will contribute to Pro Publica.

They will have to work really hard to get trust back.

Twitter is unreadable anymore, but BlueSky looks good, so I may go there.

If everyone listened to the media, Harris would’ve won in a landslide.

It’s obvious that the media has no more power as they did in the past. But also, you can only cry wolf so many times before normal people tune you out. That’s what clearly happened in this election. Cable news is no longer news, it’s sensational clickbait designed to just get views and clicks.
