| Do parents not teach their kids to say “thank you” after getting candy? It’s crazy! |
|
The whole premise is rude, threatening to pull a trick if no treat
But yes, it’s rude |
huh? |

| Tell them to get off your lawn |
| Our trick or treaters are unfailingly polite. |
Haven’t you heard “trick or treat” before? What did you think it means |
What neighborhood? |
| The little ones are polite. The older kids are in a rush. |
| Ehh, we just set the sprinklers off on ones that do that. |

We had one group of kids come by. I honestly forgot it was halloween. DS is 12 and to old for ToT and not old enough to be on the town prowling with teens. DH is out of town for work. I've had a rough work week. So completely forgot.
So when someone knocked on my door, i thought it was a salesperson. Surprised to see kids there, to which i was like "doh i totally forgot". The nice girls - probably 10 years old - offered me excess candy from their bags so that i could hand out to any other kids. She was almost insistent and very generous. Really polite. |
i sure have, but what exactly do you think the 'trick' part mean? |
| The kids who have stopped by our house have been extremely polite this year, from toddlers to high schoolers. Virtually all of them have said thank you and happy Halloween. We haven’t even had any crowding or kids taking handfuls of candy. I’ve been really impressed. |
Wow that's so sweet! I'm trying to decide if there's a way to enforce "just take one." I want the kids to be able to choose, but so far saying to take one still has some of them grabbing a handful and I might run out! |
