I’ve had rotisserie chicken elsewhere, and had Costco rotisserie in the past that I quite enjoyed.
But I got a whole rotisserie a couple weeks ago, and it was all wooden tasting, and today I got the rotisserie chicken salad from the marketplace as I waited for my eye doctor, and it was awful. Chewy and slimy somehow at the same time. I expect the chicken is probably leftovers that they then tear up for the salad the next day so I guess I should’ve said lower expectations. |
| Because it's mass produced chicken, made for the masses. I would never buy or consume it. |
🤣🤣🤣🤣. As opppsed to what? Chicken you buy at the grocery store? I have a bridge to sell you. |
| Never had an issue. Maybe it’s that location. |
| they inject it with fluids to keep it moist |
| I’ve never had an issue with it. Its way better than a Giant store chicken. |
I buy chicken from a guy at the farmer's market with a chicken farm - same place I buy eggs. I've literally been to his farm (my DD asked if he did tours and you could tell he doesn't but he told her yes so we went and she had a great time). |
Most chickens come from a chicken farm. There are very few artisanal chicken farmers. |
Not that poster, but many people have backyard chickens now. It's a big thing. |
Was heated under the lamps too long, got dried out. |
Please please try to buy organic if you can. |
| I've been generally satisfied with the rotisserie chicken at whole foods. how does that compare to costcos? |
Pls explain how this is relevant. |
NP- I usually buy organic meat, but even the Costco organic raw chicken has been gross lately. Organic isn’t the same as pasture raised, and doesn’t really dictate how the birds are processed after they’re killed. |
| To me their chicken is very fatty. I don’t like it. It also doesn’t have seasoning. My favorite is Wegman’s rosemary. |
