Costco rotisserie chicken, why is it so vile?

You think people are slaughtering the chicken in their backyard? And wifey is sitting over a cast iron cauldron picking out all the feathers so they can roast it over a spit? No. People with these urban chicken farms are using the chickens for eggs, instagram, and occasionally coyote food.

It is difficult to imagine these urbanites walking into their backyard and strangling a chicken with their hands or chopping off the chicken's head.
