I can think of two significant compliments. What about you? This is a feel-good post, so please brag away!
--I referred a young man I knew fairly well to an entry-level job in my company. He did a wonderful job and was promoted within a year. He thanked me for saving his marriage and said his life was significantly better because I offered him this interview. (For the record, I had no role in the hiring process; all I did was refer him!) --I helped a young couple organize their finances. About 10 years later, we spoke and they said they would not be anywhere close where they are today without my advice. I am so honored to have helped these people and grateful to be recognized. |

A. Being thanked for my advice on special needs parenting. I benefited from advice myself, when my son was little, and I am happy to help strugglings parents with struggling kids.
B. This is frivolous, but being thought of as younger than I am. |

The Best one I've ever gotten: You would have made a great FBI agent. From a retired FBI agent. LOL.

I love this! What do you think (s)he meant? |
I am certain those parents benefited from your experience. Well-done! |
He said that I really understand people well. We work together in non-Law enforcement. |

1) I had a kindergartener who struggled with impulse control, focus, behavior, etc. I taught him one-on-one for 10-15 minutes each day. He asked his second grade teacher if he could invite me to his awards ceremony. He ended the year reading far above grade level. He stood up in front of everyone to thank me. Everyone was crying and cheering for him.
2) So many people have told me I raised a wonderful son by myself. It was very tiring (he had ADHD) but he has a FT job and a college degree and he’s doing well as an adult. Hardworking, very frugal (even more than me!). |
| Another woman I was attending a conference with (she wasn’t gay) told me at the end of the week that she thought I was “shockingly beautiful “. I was so flattered. |
I can relate to your hard work and dedication, PP! I did something similar. Married but sadly my husband denied my son had an ADHD/ASD diagnosis for a long time, and did nothing to help. DS is in college now. He still needs support, but he's on his way. |
| Different schools, different teachers, different counselors are telling me that DC is SO kind to everyone around them. DC is patient with all kids and takes time to talk with them even when they are different in some way and others forsake them. |

First time he saw me 1/2 undressed he told me that I had a spectacular figure.
Married almost 30 years. |
| I've never received anything but basic compliments and don't get many. So far this year, the only compliment I got was when someone was hugging me hello and said I smelled nice. (It was from coconut oil.) |
