| and I’m annoyed by that! she is … not terrible? |
| I don't hate her either. At least she has the proper education, training and research experience to share her insights and expect people to listen. Her fellow gurus are more snake-oil fakers. |
| Every white woman in my affluent community that thinks they’re some kind of enlightened ally just loves her. Hard pass from me. |
| embrace vulnerability? no thank you. |
| She's irritating and dumb. |
| I find her work … extremely obvious. |
| Just another greedy white woman repackaging the wisdom Black people have learned the hard way. I’m sure she’s relatable to many of you. |
That's an interesting take and I would be interested in hearing more. Can you elaborate? I am being serious. I am open to that idea, just want to hear more about specifics. |
Lol. Wtf is this? I’m not spending my Saturday night regaling you with specifics. Get thee to Google. |

Um wut? |
I’m also interested in learning more about this take. I googled and thought these were some interesting perspectives from a Black woman: https://drcareyyazeed.com/the-dangers-of-courage-culture-and-why-brene-brown-isnt-for-black-folk/ https://drcareyyazeed.com/black-women-and-vulnerability-what-brene-brown-got-wrong/ But, Dr. Yazeed seems to be arguing that Brene Brown’s philosophy is inappposite to Black women - not PP’s position, which apparently is that Brown’s work is regurgitating the experience of Black people. Actually seems like Dr. Yazeed’s position is opposite of what PP is saying. But, all good food for thought. |
Oprah didn’t think so. |
| I have a friend who paid to be certified by her somehow and she is disorganized and taking advantage of these people. Constantly changing the rules of engagement after people have paid a lot of money to get the rights to say they have been through her training. |
| Just a polished grifter. |
