Where to wear a ballgown?

Anonymous
Just read another thread about ball gowns and black tie events. I’m not an exec or the wife of one but I REALLY want to get dolled up at a really nice event, darn it.
Any suggestions of events that are like this for a rando like me? Lol

Inaugural balls and celebrations will be happening soon, along with holiday celebrations. Get on some guest lists, and consider joining the types of organizations that have formal events as fundraisers.

Yep that annual ball for work

You can buy tickets to charity galas. You can also buy tickets to inaugural balls.

I posted on that thread, I'm not an exec, most of my black tie events are work related.

Most normal charity galas may be black tie, but they are not ballgown events.

Depending on what you want to wear and how - you might be able to find a fandom, like harajuku girls or steampunks or goths/dark academia but for adults in ball gowns;

Look for a Bridgerton ball or a Jane Austen ball

Put is on insta and create a new -core if there isn’t one

Seriously, the world needs more people like you who want to dress up and have fun - you are not the only one, go find your people or create the community you want

Go on a cruise. People dress up on the formal nights. A Christmas cruise is particularly fancy and fun.

I've seen people in long formal dresses at the opera, but usually not ballgowns.

Ballgown is a specific cut of long dress with a larger skirt.

Yeah, you don’t actually wear a ball gown to black tie. Black tie = sophisticated floor length gown. Ball gown sounds like a full skirt deal. Haven’t seen that out and about. But there are some purchase-ticket black tie events, just search online. Dunno if any good but can provide excuse to dress up.
