If so what did you think? I thought it was pretty sad and true especially being on this forum where women attack woman over 35 for looking younger. Even though it's well known that 30 and 40 year olds today look younger than 20 year olds today for various reasons. |
I liked it. I like horror movies if they use metaphors to talk about an aspect of life, not just to be shocking. If done right, they can be very insightful. This was a good one, very well done, good acting and a lot to think about. I thought the last third was too long and went too far, but that happens in a lot of movies: there's a long "payoff" and action to wrap it up.
I liked the two sides of the woman's personality and it reminded me of how life can be when you're young and arrogant versus being older, just the way you have less power in the world. Dennis Quaid was great too, so smarmy and gross, yet believable. |
Is this movie streaming somewhere? |
She sin the new Texas oilfield drama out by the Yellowstone director. Should be good. |
Agreed. I liked the ending but hated the third act overall. That being said I think it's one of my favorite movies this year! |
The images get into your head-- great cinematography, hallmarks of Shining. And while I didn't love that this punishes only Demi's character(s) (where was Quaid's/Hollywood's comeuppance?), she was far better than I expected. That scene where she couldn't get out the door from self-doubt was visceral. Well done |
No. Get off the sofa and go to the theater. |
Saw it, loved it, one of my favorites of 2024. |
Margaret qualley is such a nepo baby |
ummm weird take |
PP. Agree, it's one of the best this year. I was really impressed with the three lead actors (Demi Moore, Margaret Qualley and Dennis Quaid). I saw it last week and keep thinking about it. They were outstanding in completely different ways. I also liked the sets and the overall address of the whole movie. |
^^oddness, not address |
How scary is it? |
Grotesque but not scary. The first 2/3 of the movie is horrifying for images/events that could be real life. Part of what makes it compelling. |
Why? Women older than 35 are constantly criticized on here and younger women are defended. |
