RIP. What an amazing actress... |
I just saw this. She was great in every role. She will be missed. |
That's DAME Maggie Smith to you. |
Wow, very sad. She was amazing. My family loved her in Downton Abbey.
|
Oh, what a treasure. She always seemed so spry, didn’t realize she’d been unwell.
The families of actors are so lucky in a way. They’ll always have her performances as comfort. |
Oh no! She was great. |
Farewell, dowager Countess of Grantham. |
NO!!!! |
+1 |
Well, to everyone. |
A gifted actor indeed. She was a treasure!

She was absolutely amazing. If you’ve never seen her earlier work, seek it out. Many only know her as Violet or McGonagall, but she had an astonishing range.
I love this quote: When asked in 2017 by the UK magazine “Women’s World” why she had not gone to more award ceremonies, Smith replied: “I truly think if I went to Los Angeles, for example, I think I’d frighten people… They don’t see older people.” |
I’ll be watching Downton Abbey in her honor on this rainy day. |
She was brilliant in Lettice and Lovage. It was a thrill to see her on stage.
"I do not do anything merely!" |
My favorite of her movies was "Travels We with My Aunt.". If you have not seen this movie, it is wonderful.
Thank you, Dame Maggie for wonderful memories and peace to your spirit. |
