In her first interview in more than two years, former First Lady Melania Trump said she saw her husband’s survival in two attempts on his life as “miracles” and offered new details about the former president, including his desire to have more children.

The Slovenian-born former fashion model has remained somewhat of an enigma in the 2024 election cycle, staying largely absent from the campaign trail, breaking norms in not speaking at the Republican National Convention and skipping key moments for her husband, Donald Trump, including his primary-night victory parties and court appearances in New York and Florida.

In a pre-taped interview aired on Fox News Thursday morning, Melania Trump called for Democrats and members of the media to stop branding her husband as a threat to democracy. She blamed the media for “fueling a toxic atmosphere” and empowering those who “want to do harm to him.” Democrats previously blamed Trump for violent rhetoric, including helping to incite an attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

I mean, right or wrong, would you really blame a wife feeling that way. If your spouse was a political candidate and was called "Hitler" and "threat to democracy" every day, and then two people tried to assassinate your spouse, I am pretty sure you would feel as she does.

The Democrat paid troll machine that follows Trump’s news stories is obvious to anyone with an internet connection. She’s correct. The Act Blue donors who shot at Trump are not crazy lone wolves. Both of them planned and premeditated these attempted shootings. The fact that the Secret Service was less prepared in Butler PA than they were decades ago for all presidential candidates is highly suspicious as well.

Her husband literally said “maybe the second amendment people could take care of her” in reference to his opponent in 2016. He also encouraged his crowd to rough up protestors and said he’d pay their lawyers fees. She can sit the F down.

Trump also said it was “beautiful” when some guy attacked the press pool right after Trump called the media the enemy of the people. Trump went on to tell the police to go easy on the attacker because “he’s one of us”

The timing, too, is key. Until at least Election Day, Melania Trump is still a potential first lady. Beyond that, her marketability is in some way up to American voters as they choose between her husband and Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris.

“She is capitalizing on the time she has left before the election Her (market) value is gone if she is no longer a prospective first lady,” said Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Melania Trump’s former friend and adviser, who supports Harris. “If Harris wins, I believe people will want to move on.”
