where is this?

They have an email campaign of misinformation going out to other PTAs.

ahh. fortunately I think most PTA leadership is smarter than this and will see right through it.

Can the CCPTA hold a happy hour at the Beer Garden for team Save McKinley? I think we all feel the pain that McKrazy and Data Dudes are going through. This is a tough battle they are fighting and they are really getting desperate. Maybe we can capture some "lessons learned" for the next round.

I would second that proposal. It is really sad how APS wants to tear these communities apart

Dude, you realize the poster was joking, right?

McKrazy and crew are a laughing stock. They are feeding "news" to ArlNow so they can show how many relatives they had sign their irrelevant petition. Their "data" is sketchier that that from APS.

Do you have a cite for these guidelines? Are they mandatory or just guidelines?

So how can they do this then? That's crazy

This just shows how desperate they are. They KNOW more people support the moves than don't. My heavens, if they haven't convinced people by now with all their lettering and AEM-ing and forum-dominating, what makes them think they can persuade PTAs now 2 days before the public hearing and a week before the vote? Desperation. For those who support proposal 1, that's a good thing.

Don't count those chickens. For those who support 1, now is the time to make your voices heard.

Yes but don’t forget they didn’t spend any time on the those assignments- it was for a here’s what it might look like. It wasn’t a serious boundary analysis of proposal. So McKinley/Key/ATS making these alternative proposals and weighting them to those for discussion purposes only is really gaslighting all those AEMs who are ready to take real action (over social media) to any battle cry.

I'm not sure of the 'they' you are talking about. I have never heard APS advocate for building up in violation of these guidelines. Certainly the anti-movers are making this pitch. But they don't feel any need to be based on facts- I would say this is actually one of their less egregious pitches (e.g. it is based on ignorance not deliberate misinformation- the idea that the poor hispanic families rely on the bus and metro to get kids to extended day is deliberate misinformation.)

Reed will be four stories high (older grades at the top). I would be very surprised if the architects didn't check to make sure that was allowed.

Next fight is dropping the McKinley name when it moves to Reed and sticking with Reed Elementary.

I would NOT be surprised if APS did not check that. (Anyone else, yes, but APS, no.)

Gut leads me to predict a no move majority vote. To be sure, that would be hugely embarrassing. But a speech about the need to pause, look at the data, admit “mistakes”, get things right, proceed carefully, promote diversity, and the like will do the trick!

It really won’t. Have you seen those gerrymandered pro-McKinley maps? Without the moves, redrawing boundaries will be a total nightmare.

Wishful thinking, buddy.

Look at what data? Just look at the new apt buildings opening in the next year or two. R-B is already bursting at the seams.

And Reed opens in 2021. We need to decide on the new school location now.

If that actually happens they will come back with a full boundary plan that moves immersion to Carlin Springs in the fall. Be careful what you wish for!

No, just telling I to like it is. But f it’s a no, that really would be an f u to the staff.

Don’t look an ATS gift horse in the mouth, fools.

Bus those locations to Jamestown or Discovery, maybe?
