VRSC already opened GA with wins against FCV

Current VRSC is former FCV (?)

Yes, all GA1 teams are made up from FCV GA1 and GA2 players that came over with a few ECNL players from other clubs. VRSC GA2 teams are a mix of FCV, VRSC, and other clubs.

Don't expect Rev to get any bigger than they are now. From U13 and older, the plan is to limit 3 teams per age group. It's not going to be like LS that has 5 or more per age group. U12 and younger may have four teams per age but will shrink as they transition to 11v11. There's no overcrowding issue with the facility now that FCV no longer practices there.

Why would they want to limit revenue at U13 and older?

I won't deny that Rev is out make money but they aren't sacrificing quality over quality. The culture is different than at a club like LS. The haters won't accept that but it is. Parents don't leave the club because of the culture, they leave because their kids didn't get moved up or didn't get a offer for the next season. The top leadership at the club are trying to build the club using European methodology. It's not about getting as many kids into the club, it's about getting the best available kids and making them better. Hate on Rev if you want but don't hate without coming out and experiencing it for yourself.

Words to live by: Never sacrifice quality over quality

Please stop European my buttocks. The Revolution is not being televised.

Obviously meant not sacrificing quality over quantity.

What's wrong with following a European model for the club? Building a program takes years. You can't expect them to have the top talent from day 1 but they can build their program to develop top talent over the years. Your trying to compare an established program to one that's been around for only a few years.

Academies work because they have professional clubs attached to them. VRSC is just one of many soccer clubs in NOVA and not a particularly successful one.

What other NOVA clubs started at the sametime as VRSC?

Right?! Name another, they probably aren't as successful either...

The people are eager to get a description and breakdown in exactly what is successful about them. Buying a spot in a league because you’re rich af isn’t a valid metric.

Comparing VRSC's success to the success of well established clubs isn't a valid metric either.

Why not? They are competing for the same players as established clubs

They are not competing for the same players. There are parents like yourself who would never let their kid join a new club. Parents like yourself who need a club to prove their worthiness to have your kid play for them. Parents like yourself who don't take risk. You would rather have your kid be miserable on their current team than join a a new club that is out to build a reputation and establish themselves. So no, they are not competing for the same players.

They are competing for the same kids and those kids filter by league. On the boys side, the best go to MLS Next (aside from the few at DCU) followed by ENCL. VRSC doesn't have teams in either league. On the girls side, the best go to ECNL followed by GA. VRSC has GA and should be pulling girls not quite good enough for ECNL.

Ecnl or bust parents crack me up.

Why would you not go to one of the four ecnl clubs in the area vs a club that has no track record and just got into GA. Taking that risk cracks me up. Most likely you have to because you can’t crack an ecnl roster.

What risk? GA has access to the same scouts and recruiters through college showcases and national tournaments.

Not really. That’s why the best FCV players went to VDA

Wow, I think it was nearly a clean sweep. SYC teams are fairly weak.

Maybe the older age FCV, excuse me I mean VRSC teams did well against SYC but there's no way VRSC beat the 2012 SYC!! SYC ALL DAY!

Did they? Looks pretty even to me.

SYC won: 12s, 11s, and 10s
VRSC won: 09s and 08s

not really a clean sweep for either club

But if looking at future years, looks more promising for one than the other.

They are both new to GA so should be evenly matched. Scores show that us true except younger teams u13-15 all won for SYC. Advantage is cleary SYC and for the future too.
