Trump is a convicted felon. Anyone who votes for him has questionable morals/standards. Shameful.

Yep, Trump has made a lot of promises of tax cuts and government favors to billionaires and corporations and now they are paying their bribes.

Wrong.

He promised tax cuts to regular Americans, and to enforce the border.

I thought you wanted Trump to take on inflation. Why would he support these inflationary policies?

Tax cuts increase inflation and increase the deficit. Weird that these Trumpies don't understand something so basic.

As will dramatically stemming inflation. MAGA is so simple-minded that they think there is a magic solution for everything. Federal government is a complex series of levers. Pull one, and another moves in the opposite direction. Trump will raise inflation. There have been a series of articles about how the financial industry is getting ready for Trumpflation.

MAGA hates the government because they have zero understanding of it. It’s mindblowing how little they know.

His voters believe he was convicted in an unfair and politically motivated kangaroo court. His conviction only makes him more appealing. They see him as as a brave victim of a corrupt judicial system.

I don’t believe that, but I do think there are elements of the judicial process that were questionable in this case, and I despise Trump. So if even I can see that, his believers think people like you are just supporters of using the political system to imprison political rivals. They believe you are the shamefully corrupt and immoral one.

His voters are willfully stupid and uninformed people. And they’re a shrinking group. You might enjoy a little corruption in your maga leaders, but most people do not. He was given zillions more chances and latitude than most are given. He didn’t have to sit at Rikers awaiting a trial. He had his own lawyers instead of some overworked public defender. He wasn’t thrown in jail for his rude behavior like he ought to have been. He had a jury of his peers - even a Trumper he thought was his ticket out of conviction!

Donald Trump is convicted felon. A rapist. A traitor to his country internally and externally. He and his wretched party are a pox on the country, stopping us from dealing with actual issues we face and instead forcing us to spin our wheels on defending our basic governmental functions and rights we were granted decades ago.

Most people aren’t tuning in yet. The media is working hard for Trump. People do not like the chaos and incompetence of the GOP.

This entire take is delusional, except I don’t disagree that Trump is a convicted felon and a rapist. He is genuinely a terrible, terrible person. And yet Trump is going to win in November, and he will win because a lot of people who aren’t MAGA are going to either switch sides and vote for Trump or they will stay home and not vote at all.

You screaming at them about how you believe they are terrible people, etc., just serves to convince people to vote for Trump. You simply do not understand how tremendously alienating the loud progressive left is these days to most voters. You sound unhinged. It’s not persuasive.

If PP is correct that citizens will vote for a corrupt rapist because someone to the left of them was mean online, then we don't really deserve a functional country in any event.

They view it as a partisan political stunt.

This is not true. He's erased a large portion of it, but not entirely. According to formal reporting for the end of Q1 of 2024, Biden still has about $212M in the bank and Trump has about $170M in the bank. So, still a disparity, but much closer since the disparity was closer to $100M in Q4 of 2023.

Additionally, the fact that Trump is still siphoning off huge amounts to pay various legal bills means that spending-wise, he still has a lot less than Biden does.

No, Trump will not win. Both candidates have the majority of their base and that's about equal. However, the independent vote had largely been divided between them (hence the neck-and-neck race), but the recent conviction of Trump has already started a slide. It's only been a month and there has already been a 1-3% slide away from Trump in most areas including in most swing states. That slide is going to continue, especially after July 11 when he is sentenced. Right now, without a major news shift, the summer news cycle is largely going to be anti-Trump. The economy is getting stronger, Trump will continue to have growing legal problems that will remain in the news. There are no politically advantage stories on the horizon for MAGA.

In addition, 2022 and 2023 elections showed us that when abortion rights are on the ballot, voters who normally don't register or vote will register and vote to protect abortion rights. 18-34 year olds who traditional have the lowest demographic representation registered in record numbers in Ohio, Kentucky, Kansas and Virginia when abortion rights were on the ballot and they voted between 70-90% in favor of the pro-choice candidate or ballot initiative. Additionally suburban women came out in much higher numbers than traditionally and they also voted over 60% in favor of the pro-choice side. There is no hidden demographic of conservative voters that are coming out to vote in large numbers like this. Most of the hidden conservatives came out in 2020 with Trump's record numbers and they are already on the voter registration and accounted for.

Trump is likely at the peak of what he can hope to get and he will be sliding down the other side of the bell curve between now and November.

An anonymous poster on one website saying her opinion is going to make millions vote for a convict? I didn’t call anyone terrible. I’m not the “loud progressive left.” I don’t sound “unhinged,” but you sure do. Especially given that you’re apparently a card carrying member of the “duck your feelings” party, the same people who start calling anyone “unhinged” who says anything fact based.

I didn’t “scream” anything about them being terrible people. What I said was that his voters are willfully stupid and uninformed and that is a fact. You can show them facts and disprove their beliefs and they will say something like “well, we’re all entitled to our opinions” and then they go on to spout a right wing lie.

Trump may win; he did in 2016. But he killed off a good number of his own voters by insisting a novel virus was but a cold and he’s turned off millions with his horrible “leadership,” his dementia, his attempted coup, his encouraging violence, his overturning of Roe, his constant victimhood, his being proved a rapist (who can’t stop defaming the victim!), his Agenda 47, Project 2025 and his being a convicted felon.
