FCV doesn't have the players to become ECNL. Not many boys teams and the girls program is losing what remainder of players they have left. Dragging the process of offering players spots is hurting them in retaining players. My friend told me that the turnout for the tryouts in recent days was reduced down to about half. |
Appears the other coach they tried to hire from Chicago did his đ |
Are there other examples of a nationally prominent program like FCV imploding so suddenly? It seems unreal to go from what they were literally only a few weeks ago to what its fate appears to be for next season. |
Leadership at FCV proposing them getting into ECNL is just talk. Zero chance it happens, especially after everybody seeing the Union/Brave debacle. I don't see a new additional ECNL club here for a while, what's happened is addition by subtraction. |
Lonestar in TX went from top of GA like FCV to ecnl regional league next year after bunch of coaches left |
The situation from an outsider feels like the following.
CZ knew field space was going to be an issue. He got out while he could for greener pastures. He also sold FCV to TSJ when money was tight to get out from that situation. Probably a great coach not business man. CZ never paid attention to the boys program so it wasnât growing. Maybe TSJ was pushing him outâŚ. CZ approached VRSC and GA with a promise to grow their program and push out FCV. It feels like GA was granted because FCV will lose the licenses next year after the program dismantles as is happening now. BP gets word and leaves for VDA and AB takes over and since then itâs been a fire drill no communication and the best example of how to kill a program. TSJ wonât get the GA license for Springfield as itâs too close to SYC and without fields between Loudon and Springfield and FVU in fairfax I donât see enough strong players to make equitable teams. It feels like a set-up and GA didnât give ASA time to rebuild so they probably wonât give FCV |
How is it a setup? TSJ dropped the ball on this one. Everything goes back to them, if they fulfilled their end and actually built a home base in Loudoun, I'd be curious if this happens at all. |
Adam and bigshot messed up big-time but Reston club failure gives insight into how poorly they make decisions. |
Theyâre 9. Talk about living through your children. |
Hindsight being 20/20, TSJ should have used those funds towards an FCV facility. Now they're going to have two failures on their hands. |
SYC doesn't need FCV, VRSC probably won't work as former coaches left for a reason. No need for FCV to have GA at this point. Probably part of some sort of the agreement/settlement due to fear of lawsuit by the st. james. |
Exactly. Why would syc even entertain that merge? |
Not a merger but a âpartnershipâ to get access to the indoor facilities at the st james. players would get discounts on gym memberships, trainers |
FCV's own GA barely got access to their flagship, unlikely anybody else would get that benefit. That indoor field is to generate money, not for their soccer program. |
Yup. They don't even let anyone in the South use those facilities. This isn't just a North problem. They bought fcv for the money they could get from it not to make the program better and let them use their facilities. |
