Story has now broken in Richmond and Charlottesville press. Parents still live in Richmond. Article includes all the major parts of the court documents, including how the mother tells Hoppe to remember to write down all her jail experiences bc the mother knows someone that wants to write a book about Hoppe’s time in jail like a memoir.

The story got international publicity. I think that theory is a reach. The family was not masterminding her antics while imprisoned, but going along with her. In your conspiracy, who would have incentivized the clerk to do so? Probably just an error.

This seems like a risk merely for the thrill. They are not aiding her case, what would be so pressing to discuss with them unheard? What she had for lunch? Details of someone else's crime. She has really shot herself in the foot. Why didn't I think of this sooner?! Spath. Literally gets off on violating norms and laws.

I hope the father can give the kids as much stability as possible, so they have any hope of being normal and having a moral compass. Of course, she may have assaulted them and their friends, too. Absolutely vile trash human.

Any type of character reference these imbeciles provide to the judge to try and mitigate the length of her sentence will be worthless, because the paper the reference is written on is too stiff to wipe oneself with.

The enticement charge that the government wants Hoppe to plead guilty to is a slam dunk conviction with a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years and a maximum sentence of life in prison. If Hoppe rejects the plea agreement, then she has the transportation and child pornography charges to fight also. The transportation charge has a conspiracy element, so there isn't really any defense to fight the charge. There might be some traction on the child pornography charges, if the government can't produce a complete digital trail from Hoppe's device to the government's device.
