What the hell happened to JD Vance?

Whoever thought it was a good idea to release it should be fired, but why is no one mentioning how rude the worker was from the start?

After that, it’s just JD making small talk and salvaging an otherwise awkward encounter.

It serves as a commercial for why it’s better to just eat at home. Customer service sucks. Ten years ago people had basic conversational skills and manners.

She wasn't rude at the start. She became rude when she said she didn't want to be filmed and instead of turning off the camera like a socially normal person, he just said to have them blur her out. Creepy that a middle aged man is taking involuntary videos of a young woman; that's the weirdo.

If he had just had them turn off the camera and tried to go somewhere else for his completely faked "just folksy" video she might have been more courteous to him. She was weird to the creepy man who was having a crew video her when she asked not to be. She couldn't leave because she was at her job, but I bed she wanted to just turn her back and leave him standing alone.

And then the campaign didn't even blur her out at all. Later versions of the video were blurred, but not at first. So profoundly disrespectful.

The cake make sense. The hick spaz should take notes on how to interact with people.

This guy was interviewed on CNN and was told how the Teen USA kid who was mocked for her interview sank into depression after that went viral. When asked if he should not have linked to it last night or if he felt bad, he doubled down and said people should just learn to laugh at themselves. “It was just a joke”. He’s just a horrible human being.

Yes. Excellent. Ordering a sweet treat is not that hard JD. Watch this and learn how to do it.

Wait, I thought Kam ala having joy was wrong. But now JD tells us politics is too boring and we should have fun.

I think this stuff is bizarre.

Social skills (and eating donuts/cake) has not much to do with running our economy and keeping America safe and stable. We all know this know.

I am a female. At work I want people to treat me like a man. Pay me like one too. I go home and I am female again.

I literally tell people to have male expectations on me.

You’re totally missing the point, which is that Harris acts like a normal human while with other people, and Vance does not. You need to be interacting with others like a normal human to run our economy and keep America safe and stable.

Part of running for any office, including the highest offices in the land, is convincing people that you're human. That you have some humanity. That you identify with them and their struggles. He's failing at doing something that is extremely fundamental.

There is currently no evidence about his ability to be a good executive, because his political experience consists of 2 years as a junior senator. So, we're essentially back to wondering if the guy even speaks human.

I am the same poster who wants to be treated male. I speak a couple of languages. A third one not that great (another I studied for spouse and kids). speaking human is not a thing.

I just think it’s over emphasized. W was / is an amazing human being, a lot of people say that about him. He basically is living the retirement dream now

I think social skills has a whole lot to do with running the country. Relationships are foundational to so so much. People HATING your guts and thinking you are a creepy weirdo means they don't want to spend the time with you to develop the relationships that will let you do what you need and want to do.

Harris is someone people want to spend time with. This will make so many parts of her job smoother. Trump is someone people loathe. So

I'm not sure what point you're making - but also W being someone people wanted to spend time with was one of his selling points.

The problem with Vance acting like such a smug POS to people is that he’s vying for a job in which he’s supposed to work FOR these people. He is asking to work for the lady in the bakery who didn’t want to be on film. He’s asking to work for childless cat ladies. He’s asking to work for teachers without children and post-menopausal “females” and pageant contestants who flub answers at a young age and deserve a bit of grace. And if he were to win, he would *also* work for the person he just told to go to hell over a lie.

That’s the job. It’s public service. He wants a public service job, but he has given zero indication he gives a damn about serving anyone but tech bro billionaires and genital-obsessed privacy violators and weird dudes who want women to return to being trad wives.

He's got it all backwards.

If you want people to treat you like a man, make sure you don’t support the Republican Party in any way. They’ve made it clear that all women with careers only have careers because they’re trading sexual favors for work.
