| DS has been fighting a cold all week. DS fell asleep last night at 12:30am and woke up at 3:30pm today-how?!! |
| How? He's a teenager with a cold. |
| I mean I probably would have shaken him awake at 130 just so his internal clock isn’t too wonky but yeah they can really sleep |
Yep. |
| That is a normal weekend for my 15yo |
| Maybe Covid and not a cold? It’s going around and definitely can make you extra sleepy. We all had it recently, just runny noses and sleepiness for a couple of days. No biggie but maybe that’s the culprit. |
| Why did you allow a sick teen to stay up until 12:30? |
Have you never been a teen or do you not have teens? They biologically can't fall asleep really early. They are also developing/growing a lot and need as much sleep as a newborn. |
Correction they are growing as much as a newborn and need appropriate sleep. |
Sometimes, sure, but surely not every weekend? Doesn’t he have anything planned? |
| I personally would have woken my teen at normal waking time to hydrate and eat. I’d be very concerned if they slept that late. |
| I could have easily done that into my college years if I was sick of really really tired. I’m late 30s and I can still easily sleep 10-11 hours on the weekend (no kids). I wish I were one of those people who naturally wake up at 6 am every morning. Never have been. |
|
It must be a growth spurt and cold combined. Feed him well!
|
|
And now this kid is supposed to go to bed tonight at a regular time and get up for school on Monday?
|
| Walking pneumonia is going around, too. |
