Someone who is deeply insecure and unhappy with their own life. I have only girls and if someone said something like that to me I'd just laugh and it wouldn't bother me at all. Of course, if you had lost a girl or tried really hard for one, that's different, and that person is just a complete a$$hole. But I hope that's not the case and now you know more about this "friend" and you can spend time with them accordingly. Life is too short to surround yourself with unhappy people. |

Such a dumb thing to say. The most important thing is the nature of your relationship with each of your kids, not their gender at birth. And of course that they are healthy.

| OP I increasingly feel like there are just people who say total BS because they are obnoxious and have lost their filter. Does not make it okay. I have boys and have heard stuff like that. My kids go to public school and I literally had a private school mom say "I would never send my kid to that school." I mean seriously wtf. I've gotten comments about religion, kid activities, all kinds of things. It definitely says more about the poor social graces of the person making the comment. But unfortunately still hard to brush off sometimes. |

People have their own opinions about everything. I’ve had people tell me how sorry that only have a single girl. She must be so lonely, and who ever will carry on the family name?

Oh yes she made a school comment too. “Why are you letting your son go to college and live in the dorm? He will just party!” He’s 4.0 history major!

I used to have only boys and I felt that way. I wanted a girl so badly. I eventually got one.
I would never say that to another person though. |
