I've heard mention of M&D DC. Is this really Next Level? Is the team or club any good? Is this a better option than Maryland teams for a girl in Virginia? |
Please go to the "M&D acquires Next Level" thread where Capital backers will implore you to try out for Capital and go to their clinics. |
Thanks. That is an excellent plan. I think I am good. Please disregard. |
Or in the alternative, you can read the legacy NL parents delusions about how M&D DC will have college recruiting on par with Capital. |
M&D DC will be on par with Capital in a few years. Capital's monopoly in the DMV is over. |
Yeah, SR recruiting has been a real disappointment. And the MCE 2022's are really sad they got to their dream schools but yet somehow missed out on "the Capital Experience". 28s will set the table. Cap boosters should keep their eye on the prize first! Better coach 'em up! |
I think it may depend what year your girl is looking to play at. |
It will be one day, but not by M&D DC. They have a decent team that cannot compete with MD teams at ‘29 and nothing really after that except B teams. |
Someeone's not familiar with this summer's tryouts. |
You think a few Pride kids are going to help them against M&D, Coppermine and Hero’s? |
They are trying very hard to sell the dream, but few seem to be buying it. And I am sure the Capital 2026 recruiting results so far are not helping the situation. |
I draw your attention below to the current tracking of 2026 recruiting, which is ongoing. Is some new team, that happens to be the farm team of one of the existing elite teams (M&D Black), going to leapfrog to the top of the list in a few short years? Are there many kids with aspirations to play on a T10 team or high academic going to take a risk on a startup? Seems unlikely to me, but who knows. My advice for a good young player would be to try to either get on M&D Black or Hero's Green, or start laying the groundwork for Capital. The parents of the kids who likely will not make Capital are paranoid that the good players are going to leave M&D DC . . . which they all (or most) will to go to Capital. Regardless of what happens with ‘28s bc by then they will already have tried out for Capital. |
I don't really understand the commentary directed at the 2028 Capital Blue team. It seems like a fairly normal Capital team to me. It is true that at the 2028 level a good number of talented girls left for Hero's Green and M&D Black before the start of 7th and 8th grades. The girls that remained played for Pride, Stars, NL, etc. through middle school. Pride Red finished their 8th grade summer ranked #7 and then the majority of those players went to Capital and were joined by good players from Starts, NL, etc. I think they will likely struggle to find their footing like any new team does, but over time I don't see how they could be that much worse than the Pride 8th grade team. |
‘28 Capital Blue will be a top 10 team by next summer and their girls will have very similar recruiting success as the ‘26s. |
