What is M&D DC and are they any good?

It's more like Cap knows they may be looking at a 2 year stretch of not getting their gals late. Which is an existensial threat to their business model. So I guess we'll keep seeing you on the M&D DC threads.

I doubt it. Someone asked the “why” question on that thread and it’s been dead quiet ever since.

The stakes are likely too high in school for top players to roll the dice on a far less certain outcome than Capital or top MD teams. Lose a few top players and it will all come crashing down, which everyone knows and probably makes the prophecy self fulfilling.

Pretty funny. 7 of the top Pride players (on a pretty good squad) just moved over in 7th grade. That always happens with Cap's main feeder. For the 30s, a bunch, too but that's a different discussion.

People are going to be pretty surprised it seems with 28 Cap Blue and 29 M&D DC fall ball.

FTR, I think the battleground is BLC's top players and where you should direct your energies. They're next door to M&D DC, after all. But knock yourself out.

So in 3 months they've pulled 7 top players from a very unusual place and a top 2 (to not upset the Cap community) recruiting director in the area. That happens to have a top 2 h.s. team, right there. Not in Alexandria. Hmmm...

Well congratulations on now being on a different feeder team. That is all that happened here. "Trust us, our recruiting will be great" is not going to convince anyone who raised a kid smart enough to be admitted to an Ivy league school.

this and frankly all of these feeders should boast that if you want to get to Capital come play for us. Use it as a selling point.

what has Cap noticed? I am one of the people responding to you on multiple threads and I am a parent just like you....again they do not have time to be on here talking to you. They are busy getting kids into top notch schools.

This reads like a troll post. Any new Capital team takes some time to gel. Top 10 in their final year seems reasonable, but not by next summer. 2026s are putting together a special recruiting class, so that could be out of reach, but the 2028s will probably have a normal/average recruiting class when the time comes.

I wrote that and it is not a troll post. Pride was 7th in the country. Those core girls are all at Capital along with the top Stars and NL players. I said by next summer meaning after tournament season. You’re a bit sensitive.

The last time I checked, you don't need to be on Capital to get good grades, attend showcases, and go to prospect camps.

The top showcases are by invitation or application only. Who your coaches are and which club you play for weighs heavily in whether you will be selected or not. There are plenty of posts re: which are the top showcases so I will not rehash that here. The other showcases are basically garbage and a money grab. Additionally, it you play for a top club (Capital, M&D Black, Hero’s) you draw the most attention from colleges. Just go watch the sidelines of the ‘27s this year and ‘28s next year for those clubs. I am sure M&D DC will get some attention as well, I just don’t think that a nascent program that is not in the top 10 is the basket to put all of your eggs in. It is a leap of faith at best.

You bring up a good point about the coaches and club influencing invite only showcases. But the girls getting recruited to the top programs, they are getting recruited to those programs regardless of which club they play for.

When people say you need to play for this club, that club, to get recruited. That is for the borderline player where recruiting connections are key. If a girl is good enough to play for BC, UNC, or NW, they are getting recruited to those schools even if they play for a mid-level club.

I am not a believer in the “you need” to play for a team or attend certain showcases in order to be successful with recruiting. What I do believe, however, is in optimizing your player’s chances of being recruited which to me is by playing on the established top teams. It’s really a chicken and the egg argument. In order to get recruited by top schools, you need to be a great player, have good grades, preferably play on a competitive high school team (private) and practice a lot outside of team practices. Well who does that??? Girls that play for Capital, M&D and Hero’s. If the player is truly that good, they would play for one of these clubs.
