I’ve recently taken to baking gluten free bread owing to a celiac diagnosis. Does anyone have recommendations for where to shop for gluten free flours for the best prices? I’ve bought Bob’s red mill at regular retail stores like Wegmans up until now. I’m looking to buy in larger quantities (say at least 5lb bags). Specifically looking for the following: brown rice flour, sweet white rice flour, sorghum flour, oat flour, buckwheat flour, tapioca starch.

Also GF products are literally everywhere. Target grocery Giant Safeway Trader Joe’s Whole Foods (sometimes actually cheaper for GF things) Price the stores closest to you. |

| Nice! I’ve been gf baking for over a decade. Honestly, Amazon. Whole Foods and wegmans will have slightly better prices on individual flours, but inventory can tough and they both don’t stock all of them. I just buy on Amazon. What book are you using primarily? |

Thank you all. I’ve started baking from Cannelle et Vanille Bakes Simple and the recipes have been so good! I’ve only made a few but have got a couple that will be in regular rotation.
I will check Amazon & Vitacost too. PP who recommended Amazon - any brands you’ve tried that you’d recommend? |

NP. I've got a standing Amazon subscribe and save order - just king Arthur Flour for every day needs. Pancakes, cookies, etc. Occasionally I'll get fancier ones from there too, sometimes there are decent prices.
I'm a big fan of the Loopy Whisk (website) and her book - Baked to Perfection. Intrigued by the "Bakes Simple" name though - sometimes there are so many steps in GF baking. |
I used to buy from bobs directly but they axed their online store and sell only on Amazon. I buy bobs when it’s the cheapest. I also have had good luck with Anthony’s, it’s just, namaste and arrowhead mills. The white blend I’ve settled on is primarily tapioca and millet with sorghum and xantham gum, (baked to perfection - Katarina cermelj) but will use white rice, potato starch, brown rice and teff on occasion. |
Yes! From the book I skip the double rise and tanjian (or whatever it’s called) steps and the breads still come out awesome. It’s the one method I’ve used where the dough feels real- not like batter. |
| These are wonderful tips! OP here. Yes the bakes I mentioned are simple. I haven’t ventured into sourdough or anything like that but the simple sandwich bread and oat & honey bread are excellent. I will try some of the loopy whisk recipes too! |
| MOM’s Organic Market has a great selection of gluten-free flours and competitive prices. Their sales on all GF products are great, too. |
| I like King Arthur for GF flour and buy it on Amazon. Not what you asked, but I think Trader Joe's has the best GF pancake mix and brownies. |
| just put old fashioned oats in the blender for oat flour, Costco has big bag of gluten free organic oats for a good price and sometimes even on sale |

After trying around 12 pie crust recipes with various flours and getting truly epic bad results I found using King Arthur flours to get the best results.
I economize elsewhere in my life and buy what I need for good quality gluten free foods. |
