Done. Now that so many areas of the country have hosted tryouts and filled rosters, ECNL is not dropping that bomb. It seemed so simple…how do all
these players have to wait well over a year when a lot of them won’t be playing on the same team.

no. my daughters birthday is in August and our schools start mid August, she will not be able to play with her grade

Iowa is basically South Minnesota.

Wisconsin as a state wide tryout period that has to be followed, including a state wide "recruiting" time as well.

But ECNL and GA do not have to follow it, just USYS clubs.

At our club our 2nd teams just switched to MLSN2 from ECNL and the big selling points were ease of transition of players between teams and the MLSN2 teams playing in the same showcases as MLSN. There is simply no scenario if which MLSN2 teams will be forced to play up an age division in showcases and have no Jan to Aug birthdays while MLSN P2P and Academies will.

BY parents desperately pray P2P MLSN will stay in BY with all kinds of mental gymnastics. P2P MLSN is a business in the name of youth soccer. Their No. 1 goal is to make money.

Pretty clear my sons MLSN2 team is going SY. Anyone whos watched practice would understand why certain kids are now showing up as regulars.

All they need to do is allow it, not force it, and then the clubs can handle the numbers as they see fit. Your club may simply elect not to move kids for the showcase if they can't figure it out, but others would.

Exactly. Let the clubs decide what they want to do.

ECNL can extend the current 8th-grade trap year players' exception to all age groups and leave it to the clubs to decide if they want to transit or not.

Agree. It’s such a simple solution. It would also be optional.

What do you mean “showing up as regulars”.
