I finally told my braggadocious aunt to shut up

Anonymous
She is HASHTAG BLESSED and so over the top it's disgusting. She also puts other people down and is judgmental.
Slightly buzzed on white wine, I told her that she wouldn't feel the need to brag so much if she were actually confident. I then said, Money talks; class whispers.
She was speechless.
I love being an adult.

I salute you and your apposite use of that quote.

But coming here to brag about it is, er, ironic.

Sorry but I'm still buzzed.

OP, I salute you.

Sounds like you talk too much.

I love this. May use it myself.

I am confused. You thought your behavior was <checks notes> … classy?

Getting “buzzed” and cutting someone down?

Really?

Be better.

I dissent. Good job!

How old is this aunt?

Please tell me someone said “money talks, class whispers” to someone in real life!

Isn’t it “wealth whispers”?

Either way, doesn’t seem like OP has either.

Be ready for a barrage of insults from her at the next family get together.
Anonymous
You sound nuttier than the aunt.

I’d let go bragging but would push back if she puts someone down. Don’t need to be buzzed to do a right thing.
Anonymous
She was probably confused at your nonsensical drunken outburst.
