Marylanders - Did your son/daughter take the Maryland flag to hang up in their dorm room?

We received one as a gift for DS to take to college and hang in his dorm room.

Gift giver shared it’s common for kids to hang their state flag up in their dorm room.

DC kids often hang the DC flag. I've seen it frequently on Facebook over the past few years.

It is all over the PB teen and PB dorm. You can order your state flag on a tapestry or something. It must be trendy right now.

I think it’s a very Maryland thing to do. I wasn’t from Maryland but my freshman year bought a Maryland state flag to hang. Twenty years later I’m still in Maryland and hanging the same flag!

Yes My son asked for one. He went to school in upstate NY without many MD kids. He hung it all 4 years. I would think it would be not very exciting at UMD.

Think. If you go to college in MD, you don't need to hang a MD flag. Who are these morons reflexively dumping on UMD?!

My children attend unis elsewhere, but come on. UMD is a perfectly decent institution.
