Help! In Paris and thinking of buying my first luxury handbag r/o

Which French brands are a much better value to buy in France vs the U.S.? Thanks!

I misread the title and thought you were looking to buy your first luxury “husband.”

I wouldn't do it unless you've been hankering and researching. You are probably just feeling in the moment.

but I'm not a handbag person.

I don’t think you should worry too much about “value” in the context of a handbag.

If what you want is a special kind of shopping experience, go to whichever stores will give you that. I would think all the flagships in Paris would?

I was just there. I don't think there's a lot of value right now; the pricing is pretty connected between US and Euro. Maybe you save $50 one way or another.

Buy a bag because it's a nice memory of your trip to Paris, and not for value.

I think you need more research than "hey DCUM I have three days left on my trip, help me spend $$$$$"

My friend who went in with a plan looked for secondhand designer items. I think she was focused on Chanel (to be honest, I can't remember) and found a reputable place that was selling the bags at a discount. It was still WAY more money than I'd spend because this isn't my thing. But think $2k vice $5k.

I have found that prices in Europe are significantly cheaper than the US but I do agree that taking the time to do some research is worthwhile. Enjoy!

What's "r/o"?

If you are looking for a discount on a luxury handbag, you aren't a luxury handbag person.

Those bags were fake. You’d never get a Chanel, even secondhand unless it’s from 1980, for that big of a discount.

Chloe bags. Both mine have really held up and don’t have large logos
