Let’s not forget that Vance said Harris has been “collecting a government check” recently when comparing their experience. He’s trying to make it sound like she’s a welfare recipient, despite her working very hard to get where she is.

I’m a female and a corporate executive and a mom. I don’t like Vance’s reference to childless cat ladies because it’s insensitive to people who have wanted to have kids and cannot.

But I think that what Vance is trying to say is that Kamala doesn’t reflect the American population because she’s not family oriented and is a career politician living off the government’s paychecks. And think he’s saying that someone who doesn’t reflect our values as an American people.

+1 Different optics for black people and white people too. Just like on DCUM the thread on Elon Musk being father of 12 kids by 3 different women got deleted, while the one about Nick Cannon the rapper having 12 kids went on for months.

What does it mean to be "not family oriented"? Kamala has two step kids with her husband who by all accounts like her a lot which is no small feat. And a sister who she is super-close as well as a niece. Meanwhile Trump's niece and nephew both wrote books about what a horrible human being he is, and most recently about how Trump tried to cancel insurance for his disabled great nephew and said he would be better off dead.

You're trying to make it sound as if working difficult jobs like state Attorney General, U.S. Senator, and the Vice Presidency of the United States is somehow un-American, like Harris is just another welfare queen. And that being a step-mom to a couple of kids that clearly adore her counts for nothing because they are not her biological children.

And I know many who have not had their own biological children. Are these people (who take a government check) unworthy to be called Americans? Are they to be looked down upon?

So you are only concerned about peopl who csnnot conceive but are ok with using “childless cat ladies” when referred to women who, for various reasons, decided not to have children? Do you believe it is ok to offend them because they are somehow less worthy as human beings? Do you really believe people with no kids are not family oriented? As for the government paycheck, are saying that my federal employee DH is does not reflect the American population? He works ar FDA and some of new drugs you and many Americans may be using now were developed also thanks to his job. Are you saying that American career soldiers dont reflect American valuws because and they live off the government paycheck?

I'm a woman with a family.

Trump NEVER reflected American values. Just because he likes to hug flags (gag!) and because his tagine is "Make America Great Agsin" doesn't mean he is for the U.S.

He and his ilk have shown repeatedly that he and his ilk are not interested in democracy, which I consider the most important American value.

I think Vance is an idiot but here is something to the idea that women and men who are not parents don't know what it's like raising children. Yes, that includes Harris since she didn't raise her step kids.

I feel this way about all childless politicians including Lindsey Graham, AOC, Corey Booker, Tim Scott, etc. How would you begin to make decisions that impact kids without having any experience with all that comes with raising them?
