Can I wear a sandal like this to a meeting and still look professional? Or do toes need to be hidden? Can you tell I've been working from home?

| Depends what you mean by professional. In my office for day to day dress that would be fine. But I'm a lawyer and if I'm going to court (requiring full suit) I always wear closed toed pumps. |
I was imagining something very different! I think that if you have a good fresh pedi those work in general. I steer away b/c I don't like to rely on needing a pedi. |
Hm. My toes are neat but unpainted. |
| I do not want to see feet at work. Yuck. |
| I think feet (and toes especially) are vile looking. Polish and a nice pedi for me is literally lipstick on a pig. It makes your feet look like hideous clowns. Lots of people think this. There seems to be a split between people who think feet are neutral, and people who think like me. I would never wear shoes like this to work: |
| I generally steer away from bare toes for any professional situation. But that’s just my comfort level. I wouldn’t judge anyone else and I see many others wearing shoes similar to those you linked to. They’re nice. |
| It’s a no on bare toes at work for me. |
| Generally, open toed shoes (even peep toed) are not professional. Forbidden in my former health services workplace, even though I sat at a desk. |
| PP above…I used to skirt (pardon the pun) the rules and wear mules or even espadrille wedges but I’m rebellious like that. |
| Closed toe at work only. |
|
I work in finance and wouldn’t think twice about wearing these to the office (even pre-pandemic). As the lawyer above pointed out, know your audience.
Likely would not do it to a formal client meeting (suit & pumps), but a less formal one or meeting in office. Absolutely. |
| Too strap-y + the toes. Sorry OP, it’s a nope. |
+1. Another lawyer. Context is everything. |
Lol get therapy they’re just feet. Calm yourself down. |
