Seeking Advice: Nanny Refuses to Drive Teen After Weed Incident

Anonymous
We are currently facing a challenging situation with our nanny and could use some advice. Our nanny's primary responsibility is to drive our kids to practice and school. Recently, we discovered that our teen had weed in his possession. Our nanny also found out that he had the weed in the car while she was driving.

Understandably, she is now very concerned about driving our teen. She fears that if they get pulled over and he has drugs on him, she could be at risk of getting arrested.

Has anyone dealt with a similar situation? How did you handle it? Any advice on how we can reassure our nanny or is this an overly paranoid nanny?

Your nanny is absolutely in the right.

I would set rules such that your nanny is allowed to look through your teen's backpack and pockets before going anywhere. If your teen disagrees, he should reduce his practices and do after-school work to pay for his Uber.

Oh she is looking for a new job..... and I don't blame her!

Agree with nanny. She clearly doesn't trust your kid.

Wow OP. Instead of dealing with your son, you are calling the nanny “paranoid”?? You are a POS.

Why does your teen have a nanny? The nanny shouldn’t be responsible for driving your weed laden kid anywhere from now on

The son needs to be dealt with, but the nanny is being paid to drive him. If she won't, then you need a new nanny

yes her only job is cooking meals and driving them to and from places during the school year and summer. Our teen is not of driving age.
