It’s a gimmick to keep this in the news. It’s stupid. They should be calling for resignations and starting impeachment.

Come on Democrats, be the opposition party!

Without a majority they don’t have subpoena power, which severely limits anything they can do that goes beyond gimmick. What tangible thing can they do right now that would make any difference? Serious question. I’m happy to call my senators and rep and ask that they do it; but what is the ask that would actually change anything?

They can hold press conferences. They can use regular business to highlight the myriad problems with the use of signal and the Trump administration’s cavalier attitude toward our nation’s safety. Record keeping violations. They can be creative!!

Yes, at the VERY LEAST they can hold a press conference every day on the steps of the Capitol asking for Hegseth's resignation.
Every. Single. Day. Including. Weekends.

^^^ The Democrats can rotate in and out of the press conference. We need to HEAR from them, cowards!!

+1 And of Waltz gave someone else his phone or his Signal credentials, even his deputy, that’s another problem for Waltz.

They are brainwashed.
My babysitter told me today "Look at all the fraud they are finding!" She watches Fox, of course.
She just lost her part-time job, but she thinks it's Biden's fault.
(my kids love her, BTW, so I forgive all this crap).

As someone who had a summer internship with a Senator, let me tell you, they are terrible with their devices and passwords. TERRIBLE. This Senator had his password taped to his monitor. He fell for "You Have Won!" email scams more than once. Effin Boomers.

Can you please not generalize about all older people?

Many of us are technically skilled, with a lot more expertise than the random politician.

No doubt, except Waltz is 51 y.o. and belongs to Generation X. And Hegseth is 44, Vance is 40, and most of the others on the chat are not Boomers. They really should know better.

Yeah. Who do you think gets constant calls to do COBOL conversions? Without Boomers a lot of government and banking data would be lost. The institutions haven’t spent the money over the past 20 years to move off old systems. As a Boomer a lot of Congress is pre Boomer and the principles in WhiskyLeaks are millennials.

I hate when you have to listen ten times to get what is actually the trust. The reality is that moving forward you can’t use anything that has initials which can be accidentally put in. The big story should be why this reporter said nothing immediately. Most people would have said something if only you don’t want to hear something you are not allowed to hear.

Please cite to your information that the CIA approved signal as a messaging app for classified info (except maybe for agents undercover and in the field in remote areas without other more secure means of communication to report imminent threats— which was not the case here.).

They were obviously listening to the hearing.

It amazes how posters here feel NO responsibility to even news Google a single fact.

Ratcliffe said that, and provided zero evidence. The same Ratcliffe who already got caught trying to cover up a massive security leak and lying about its contents.

I watched the hearing and at the end Ratcliffe (or his staff) came up with the brilliant idea to blame it all on Whiskey Pete. Since Pete posted the war plans to the group and he said it wasn't classified, then he must've used his inherent power as Sec Of Def to declassify the info of the timing and method of an imminent military attack. I'm sure that's very reassuring to our warfighters who are putting their butts on the line.

Pete’s previous employer agrees.

Yesterday, Goldberg, who is so clearly out of Fs to give, likened Waltz's search for the culprit to OJ's search for the real killer. It was pretty funny.

The password for phegseth@mail.ru matches the one used for phegseth@alumni.princeton.edu - both use his ex-wife’s birthday.

The level of stupidity with this administration should be shocking but at this point it's just another day
