Tell me about your running schedule in the heat wave

Ran 4 miles this morning before 9am, wanted to do 7 but don’t have water with me. Heart rate higher than usual. Glad I went, stayed in the shade….Who else is running?

I'm not very hardcore but I try to run either before 10 AM (tough on weekdays since I start work at 7:30) or around 8:30, right after sunset but before its too dark. Ran at 8:30 a few days ago when we had that fluke day in the low 80s and I felt so fast and strong! Yesterday morning, not so much. Today I didn't run.

Our weekday running club starts between 6:00 and 6:30. Today was brutal, though.

Out the door by 5:45am. There is no other way. The sun is fully out by 6:30.

Same lol. I cannot exercise outside in this humidity.

I’m still running daily and oftentimes can’t get out until 10 b/c of kids’ schedules. I do peloton walk/runs when it’s this hot, which feels totally doable.

Pool workouts.

I do an hour of ladder intervals.
Pool jogging with hard intervals of 0:30, 1:00, 1:30…. up to 5:00 then descending back down to 0:30 with 0:30 slow jogging in between each hard interval.

I strongly prefer to run outside, but I've had to give up a couple of days this week. I hit the treadmill instead.

My only advice is to start early, cut distance, and don't worry about pace.

Lots of wet, shirtless people out on the W&OD this morning!!! I was out from 7am to 8am.

So humid, but definitely well-populated by us crazies!

This. And actually due to the heat you will be a bit slower and heart rate higher.

I finished 4 miles at 8. It wasn't bad in the shade.
