Do other jurisdictions get boil water advisories as frequently as DC water?

I read it here half an hour before the alert hit my phone. DCUM never fails to amaze.

No alerts yet in Arlington. Saw it on news.

Will they post after if there was a contamination?

Alert just issued for Arlington County as well

Yuck. I stopped drinking D.C. water years ago when they identified so many drugs in it.

What a terrible time- they will be a run on bottled water in the morning.

We started having water pressure issues last night at our house in NW DC. So this doesn’t surprise me but I’m wondering if those issues were related.

DC literally sucks at everything.

The is mostly due to an algae bloom in the Potomac and need to have enough water for fire fighters but blame away.

A couple hours ago I went down to the vending machine in my condo building's basement to get a couple bottles (one for every two people) to last us overnight. I was already boiling a pot but figured it would take a while to cool and wanted to be safe. I figured, I'll just get a couple to last until this cools and by morning we'll have a big pot of cool water. Surely my neighbors will also practice restraint!

No. Some fat b took her GROCERY CART down and was loading it up with bottled water until I came down and she got embarrassed.

People. This lasts two days at most. Unless you don't have access to a pot and a stove, you can boil a big pot like the rest of us!

Well, were you able to get any? You don’t already have a few bottles ready? I’ll admit, we don’t usually water, but after the last bowl water advisory in our neighborhood, I’m a little particular about having some on hand at all times.

I was able to get two bottles, thankfully, but watching this woman load up her grocery cart with bottles pissed me off! Be a good neighbor!

I didn't have any on hand. You are right, I should. I was also under the boil advisory for upper NW in January and it was a pain in the ass.

Today is not June. We needed this post a month ago.
