I used to really enjoy it, then I got older and the hangovers got worse, the calories just seemed pointless. As I’ve aged and my kids have grown up I’ve also gotten to know a lot of other parents whose drinking has just aged really poorly. They range from people literally losing enormous success, to just boring losers… so glad I’m not interested anymore.
Now I might have 2 beers a month, and I wouldn’t care if I had none. It’s just such a waste of time and literally nothing good comes of it. |
Maybe 2 glasses of wine a week, sometimes not at all. I do enjoy the taste of a good red wine. Maybe 1-2 cocktails a month. Probably twice a year we will attend a party or get together where I will get a little tipsy.
This seems to be pretty on par with our friends though some drink more and some drink less. None to drunk situations though. |
Practically nothing, ie one or two glasses of wine a year. We are Asians who don't tolerate alcohol well. One nice thing that goes with a relative lack of alcohol dehydrogenase is that alcohol doesn't give us a nice buzz, which means my teens aren't drawn to it. |
Due to medications and having an exhausting life, I rarely drink.
If I wasn't dealing with chronic illness and severe depression, I'd be drinking a lot more. I envy people who are out having a great time this summer. Who are healthy and can actually live life. |
I’m just a busy dad and I don’t have time to drink. If I have time to sit down and sip something cold - I usually desperately need some water. Also, I’m healthy and can’t stand the idea of wasting my summer days being drunk. Go for a bike ride or a hike you drunk f*cks. |
I think the last time I had any alcohol was 2021? I had a sip of a relative's drink. Maybe it was a Manhattan? I very rarely ever drink. |
I drink 40-60 units per week.
Anything else to your question, or we just taking polls on every mundane whimsical thought that fires one of our barely functional brain synapses, like “how often do you do a thing that I don’t do?” |
What are you a robot? This is a question for humanoids you dweeb. |
For any reason in particular or just lack of interest? |
Maybe 3-5 drinks per month, if that.
I used to drink quite a bit more but in my mid 40s I don’t need the calories and also it messes with my sleep. I also don’t want to encourage DH to drink more because he has had issues with alcohol in the past .We don’t even keep alcohol in the house now- just occasionally buy a bottle of wine to have with dinner etc. or will have one drink sometimes when out. |
Same. Bottles of wine are irritating because they never get finished. Can cook with them tho. |
No one will tell you honestly what they drink based on your judgemental thread. |
I have several reasons. 1. I have an addictive personality, so its for. the best I stay away from addictive substances. 2. I have a lot of severe learning disabilities that affect me negatively multiple times a day. The last thing I need is to kill off more brain cells. I need all the brain cells I've got. 3. Due to #2, I have always been depressed. Alcohol is a depressant. So it would be stupid to drink. 4. I was born a picky eater. I've never found any alcoholic drink I like. No good reason to "develop a taste for it" considering #'s 1-3. 5. I'm super fat. I don't need the calories I'd get from drinking alcohol. |
One glass of wine about every 2 months. |
2-3 beers at an event of some sort 4-5x/year.
I don’t drink as part of my normal day to day life, I don’t find it relaxing and it impacts my sleep, but I’ll have a few drinks at a big party or social event. I drank a lot in college and in my early 20s but I lost the desire to once I got older and had kids. |
